WARNING! Scammers on free advertising sites selling so called pedigree kittens for cheap, do not approach these people and go only to a registered breeder. I have also noticed people selling very young unvaccinated, unregistered kittens for cheap on these sites, again these type of kittens do not make great pets and are far to young to be rehomed, they most likely won't be purebred siberians either!

Information on my website 'adopting a kitten page' on why you should choose a reputable, registered breeder.

Ruslana's babies have arrived

Just a quick note to say Ruslana gave birth to five lovely babies a couple of days ago.Boris is daddy to the babies. There were two boys and three girls who I think are mainly brown tabbies but possibly a silver/smoke kitten but unfortunately we lost a little girl today. Not sure exactly what happened but all were feeding and looking well until I found one baby out of the nest this morning. She was cold and weak and despite giving her glucose fluids into her abdomen and warming her up she died around lunch time. I don't know if she was thrown out the nest or crawled out and was just left but mum is looking after the others just fine. The first three weeks are the highest risk times for kitten mortality so its always a scary time. Ofcourse things can go wrong later but normally they are fine after this age. Normal kitten mortality rates in any feline population are believed to be 10-30% normal losses but even knowing this it does not make it any easier. It is her first litter and the labour was slow and she is very protective of the babies so no pictures for now. I will update and try and get some pictures in a week or so. Again with this being the last litter here for this year most of these kittens are already reserved and will be ready hopefully just before Christmas. I am not sure if I am keeping any females or not so there may be some available once my waiting list have chosen. To be able to adopt a Druzhina siberian you must be on my tier one waiting list to be given priority. New 2013 plans fr kittens will be posted soon and the waiting list open.
