WARNING! Scammers on free advertising sites selling so called pedigree kittens for cheap, do not approach these people and go only to a registered breeder. I have also noticed people selling very young unvaccinated, unregistered kittens for cheap on these sites, again these type of kittens do not make great pets and are far to young to be rehomed, they most likely won't be purebred siberians either!

Information on my website 'adopting a kitten page' on why you should choose a reputable, registered breeder.

Anxiously waiting!

Well only 3 weeks until Karlisa's babies are due, she is doing well and has put over 1kg on. Her last litter was small and she only gained 1kg the whole 9 weeks so we hope there are more in her tummy this time. I am fairly certain I can feel a few babies but always difficult to say until they are here. All these kittens are reserved in advance so unless we have a huge litter none will be available this time. I will of course be keeping the best myself.

Ellie was mated to Abrikos 3 weeks ago and is looking very promising. She has pinked up and gained alittle weight. I am not certain if I can feel anything yet and she does not like being poked too much so will have to wait a couple more weeks and see. I have decided not to scan unless there are problems as I am getting more confident at recognising the signs so it will be an exciting suprise if she is. These kittens will be due middle of October and will be looking for homes, so please contact me if you are looking for that special Siberian baby to join your family.

My next post will no doubt be to inform everyone when the kittens are born, so will be a busy few months here for me :-)

Our Snowgum girls!

Thought it was time I updated everyone on our newest additions, mainly xena as she has been with us for a few months now and has changed so much. She is getting very big but I noticed this more after Dahlia's arrival. Xena is just over 6 months old now and weighs over 3.5kg. Her mother is a late developer so if she takes after her then she has alot more growing to do, she has the fluffiest tail I have ever seen, just like her Dad. Ofcourse Dahlia could not help getting in on some of the pictures, they get on very well which is nice. Dahlia despite being only 2kg at 3.5 months has no problem jumping on xena whenever she feels like a play fight. She has settled well and is very confident and such a pretty girl like her half sister.

Some pictures of these two gorgeous girls (xena is the silver girl)

I finally have had time to take some pictures and would like to introduce our visiting stud for the next 6 months. He will be with us until February 2011. He has mated with Ellie 1 week ago today and will be mated to Mia end of this year and xena early next year before returning home. He is a lovely, friendly boy of good size with very good boning who produces nice chunky babies so we hope he can further improve the size of some of our lines.

Here he is ..... Charodey Abrikos! A red silver who comes from Dauria lines. A big thankyou to Heather Sabine of Silkestar siberians, (the first person to import the siberian to England) for entrusting this wonerful boy to us, he is loving his time here and a real ladies man :-)

exciting news!

Time for abit of an update... been fairly busy here recently. As you may know we recently collected our last uk breeding girl and had the arrival of our loan stud also (who I will introduce when I get the chance to take some pictures). Karlisa went to stud and we are pleased to say we are almost certain she is pregnant. (father will be introduced soon, a lovely boy with unique lines here). I have decided not to have her scanned this time as it is fairly obvious, she has really pinked up and I am almost certain I can feel quite a few babies in her tummy. She is 4 weeks pregnant today so we hope to have our first litter this year around the middle of september.

Ellie has also mated beginning of the week with our loan stud so I should know in 3-4weeks if she is pregnant. This will be her first litter. We will then put Mia in with him once Karlisa has given birth for one last attempt at a pregnancy. We did not have her mated at home last time so it will be interesting to observe the matings so I can get a better idea of what is happening. I hope this time she will become pregnant and produce us a nice litter as I think the mating planned for her would really improve her type and produce some nice babies. She is such a friendly girl and I am sure her babies will make excellent pets. So if all goes to plan we should have 3 litters this year but only one litter will be going to new homes, just before christmas.

We may also take our new baby out to a show as a kitten depending on how she develops, so very busy here at the moment. Once I know of kitten numbers I will contact those people early on my waiting list.

Dahlia - day 2

Well it has been over 24 hours since we brought her home and she is settling very well and such a happy baby. She likes to play alot with sparkly toys and has even ate alittle today and been the toilet. She is into everything which is nice, as a kitten should be. She will be going to work with me for a checkup and to be microchipped tomorrow and an excuse to show her off to everyone as they have all been dying to see what a golden siberian looks like. They love my silvers so I am guessing they will love her even more especially as she is sooo cute. We have raided the kitten toys that are supposed to be for future kittens I breed to go to new homes with, to see which are her favourite ones to take with her tomorrow. She loves them all ofcourse so a tuff choice. I think she really enjoyed playing with them aswell. Well one last meal for her of some lovely finely cut chunks of meat and then off to bed. Some pics taken this afternoon of her playing and napping... Its a hard life being a cute kitten :-)
