WARNING! Scammers on free advertising sites selling so called pedigree kittens for cheap, do not approach these people and go only to a registered breeder. I have also noticed people selling very young unvaccinated, unregistered kittens for cheap on these sites, again these type of kittens do not make great pets and are far to young to be rehomed, they most likely won't be purebred siberians either!

Information on my website 'adopting a kitten page' on why you should choose a reputable, registered breeder.

A selection of pictures of Karlisa's current litter are now on Facebook on my profile page from birth through to 11 weeks of age. They are now at the age to be leaving home which is very sad. They have been posted as a tribute to them. You can add me as a friend on Facebook ...Clare Ferris, liverpool to view them and join cattery group Druzhina siberians also. Please write a message on friend request to say you are interested in seeing the pictures as I won't accept people I don't know. Enjoy!

update on our siberians

Hello everyone, hope you all had a nice christmas. I would like to update everyone on happenings here. Had a great xmas and the cats had great fun especially the kittens who enjoyed lots of nice new toys and extra special food. One of Karlisa's babies (Bogdana) left for her new home last Sunday and I have been told she has settled well in her new home. She has found a new friend in their teenage son and is glued to him, following him around and even sleeps in his bed. I have had some lovely pictures and she is being spoilt rotten by the sounds of things. Thankyou Sue for offering a lovely home to my baby. She seems to be enjoying herself and is developing very nicely and think she will be a lovely example of the breed, I just love her colouring, she is a very nice, pale smoke with dark mask Like Balemila. Here she is with one of her christmas stockings...

Two of her sisters had their spays on Thursday, Basha and Balemila. They will be going to their new home together in the next week. This is the first time we have done early neutering here and have to say was very nervous about it but having seen how common it is in other countries (done in Australia and America alot) I decided to follow their example for the welfare of my kittens. All went perfectly with the operations and they recovered very quickly. The vet did a wonderful job with the operation and managed to hide the external stitches so nothing for them to chew on as kittens do like to chew things and it saves the need for buster collars which I dont think they would have liked much. It was an anxious time for me as I was monitoring their anaesthetics and recovery which was very strange but they had a very good anaesthetic and smooth recovery and so I am very pleased. The idea was to have them resting in a seperate room for a few days but no such luck, they got very stressed being away from the others so they are now back with the other kittens and mum. Its impossible to keep them still but despite them running around like nothing has happened there have been no post operative complications so far and they really are recovering much better than the older spays I have seen.

I also had a nice suprise just in time for xmas on Friday when my baby from Karlisa's first litter this time last year came into work for his booster injection. I was amazed to see how much he has changed in three months. I saw him at 12 months of age and he was still very much the long gangly kitten with not much coat now he has changed so much. His head is very much wider and he has a huge barrell shaped chest and nice coat now. He now weighs 6.7kg at 15 months of age and he reminds me so much of his mum in build and type. He is looking very stunning and I only wish I had kept him. I hope to have some recent pictures from the owner soon so I will post them a soon as I have them. I am very happy with how he is developing and am sure he will continue to improve. It just goes to show you really cant judge siberians on type until they are alot older than most other breeds, they change so much and really arent at their best until atleast a few years of age.

Boris who is also a black smoke from Karlisa's current litter is going through a very gangly stage at the minute at 13.5 weeks and not looking very siberian but he has gained a good amount of weight and is only 100g behind Belle now and actually weighs more than Gus did at that age so I can only hope he will develop well and be a good addition at stud here. Belle is doing well also and developing nicely, she has her heft and barrell shaped body still which she has had from birth but her muzzle is alittle long at present but again once she matures her cheeks should drop and she should be a very nice girl. Its very exciting watching them develop and change so much, I can't wait to see them at 18 months.

Ellies babies are also doing well and I hope to have more pictures of them soon. They had their first vaccines recently and will have their second injections around the 5th of Jan and will be neutered the following week as none are being retained for future breeding and so all will be pets. We still have some of these kittens available for adoption so please contact me for more information. They will be ready to go middle of Jan. So for now that is all the upto date news here, im now off to go and enjoy my boxing day lunch and relax with family, enjoy the rest of your holidays and I will post more updates in the new year.

Wish everyone a very happy new year!

litter B-11.5 weeks

Sorry for the delay with pics I have been unwell. These pics where taken a week ago. The babies are doing great and getting big. They are now almost 12 weeks old and will have their second vaccine on Tuesday. All these kittens have found homes and our first baby from this litter Bogdana will be leaving us first in a week or so. She will be neutered by the new owner. Basha and Balemila will be neutered here and go to their new home together just after christmas and ofcourse Belle and Boris will be staying here. I can't believe they are almost ready to leave and it will be sad seeing them go but they have lovely homes to go to and will be cherished I am sure.

I would like to wish everyone a merry xmas and thank all the people who have offered a loving home to one off our kittens this year, Can't wait to see them in their new homes and look forward to lots of lovely pics throughout their lives.

Message for Faye!

Adrian the person hoping to adopt Ellies gorgeous blue silver spotted tabby boy sent me a message to say it is Faye's (his wifes) Birthday today. Unfortunately she is not feeling very well and has now been sent off to Australia for a week to work. So I am posting this little message for you Faye, hope you have a great Birthday and get well soon, sorry you have had to go so far away but hope to see you intime for the kitten visit at the beginning of December.

Your 'little Bear' Mishka says........

Karlisa's babies back from first vaccination today!

Just a quick post to let the new owners know that the babies had their first vaccines today. They did get alittle shock when the carriers came out but mum being so calm of course meant she lead the way with abit of persuasion. They where very good for the journey and did not cry once on the way there or back. I forgot how big these babies are getting and had alittle panic at first as once three where in one carrier I ran out of room so had to cram a fourth kitten in and the fifth in with mum. Mum went for her booster injection as she was nursing babies when it was due last month and so I wanted to wait till she was back in tip top condition before getting it done. So carrying nearly 12kg of cats plus the carriers was abit of an ordeal!

They were all very good and did not object to being examined and just sat there but then they are used to me examining them so looking in their mouths and ears etc was nothing different to having a wormer. Belle did have something to say as usual but she was just her normal talkative self and still very clam. Vet report was lovely, healthy, chunky babies, infact she could not believe how big they where. We are used to seeing scrawny, small kittens coming in for vaccination who have come from bad breeders or strays so she was pleased to see well reared kittens. They got home about an hour later and had a treat of pink salmon for being sooo good. They are now all fast asleep and I suspect will be for most of the evening :-)

I also got their litter registration back for both litters from TICA today along with mums official QGC (Quadruple Grand Champion) certificate, well done mum on a wonderful show achievement! aswell as being a brilliant mum and nursing two lovely litters inbetween being shown... she is such a wonderful cat.

Ellie's baba's (lit c) 5.5 weeks

Again sorry for the delay with these pictures, its hard work getting good shots every week so I may only be doing them every other week from now on. I have still to think of names for these babies so I will try and get some for this week. At the moment I have given them numbers, they are all males in this litter and as i have posted under kittens available section only one kitten is now looking for a loving home but I wont know which one for another week or so until people have been to see them. The kitten with the least white may be optioned but I will post information as soon as possible. So there is still one baby available from this litter for one lucky person. They are ready to go to new homes middle of January. All our kittens will be neutered before re homing which means they wont leave here till 14 weeks. If you read back in a previous post you will know my reason for doing it, it does mean however a slightly higher charge than normal for our kittens but I feel it is money well spent as your kitten wont need any routine vet visit until booster time at one year of age. The extra I charge is still alot less than what you would be charged by your own vet for neutering plus I also throw in microchipping amongst all the other usual things and your kitten ( even a pet) will be registered and go with a pedigree.

Anyway back to the kittens, they are doing great and eating mainly on there own believe it or not, they mastered the litter tray within a few days and I have seen no accidents in comparison to Karlisa's babies who did have to get the hang of it, mainly Belle. ( I think she was too lazy to go to the tray) There weights are good also ranging from 670g-710g, so there really is not much difference with these kittens and they are averaging the same weights as most of Karlisa's (if you disclude Belle from that as she is an exception). So I am pleased with them and they are very cute. The black smoke colour is growing on me and I am loving the white bits especially on the face it makes them so unique and you really will be lucky to find another kitten with exactly the same markings. Mum of course has white in small amounts on her toes and chin and the silver comes from Dad so the kittens have taken from both parents for colour. You can also tell dads type coming through in some of the babies especially the blue tabby and the smoke with white chin, very round heads and great profiles. I have included a couple of mum but to warn people she hates having her picture taken so they are not very good at all but they do show of her lovely eye colour which is very blue, something you don't see often in a colourpoint siberian.

Enjoy!

Black smoke one: (most white) Available

Black smoke two: Optioned for Thomas

Blue silver spotted tabby: optioned for Adrian
